I chose to look at a scene from divergent, the scene is when four one of the main characters goes into a stimulation of his fears. in this scene I spotted many codes being used throughout the stimulation such as zoom, they use zoom in fours first stimulation the fear off heights; they zoom away from the characters to show the height of the bridge they are standing on this helps the audience feel what the characters are feeling. The scene also uses extreme close ups on the hands when they are wedging a metal bar between a door, medium shots are used to create impact on there body langue   and the facial expressions which is a visual code as well. The other shots the scene uses are planning shot and a tracking shot a planning shot is when the camera moves across the scene to give knowledge to the audience, this can be used to show location this happens in the 3rd stimulation to show the room and what's in there. tracking shots are used throughout to follow the characters.

In this scene the visual codes used are there clothes and colour they show dark colours like black and greys and there are normally not many windows so they don't use as many creams and whites, by using these colours it can transmit messages and are key parts to the scene. Throughout the scene the characters expressions are well put across this shows all there emotions, this can be a way in which messages can be communicated between characters.
The audio codes in this scene are ways to create tension such as music when the scene becomes more intense the music gets louder, music can suggest genre of the film or TV show in this case it is an action. In the end stimulation they use echo, echo can also refer to a scary place many places only echo if its a large and empty building which can create tension and fear in the audience.

The hunger games The feast scene "I feel that sound is half the experience" (George Lucas) I found this quote interesting because it explain why we need sound in the film is important sound creates a visual site of your own, it explains feeling and it helps us to understand what’s coming next, we take sound for granted most people think that the visual content is more important the sound but sound is just as important to create a film and the visual part. We have audio books to create our own visual content in our minds and we have sound in films to show feelings and to make intense moments even silent is apart of sound as a lack of sound.
